The Port of Seattle was hit by a Rhysida ransomware attack in August 2024, disrupting airport check-ins and port services.
The Port refused to pay the ransom and is still working to restore some systems.

OpenAI's New o1 Model: Smarter, Faster AI!
OpenAI has introduced OpenAI o1, a new series of AI models for solving complex tasks in science, math, and coding.
These models think more deeply before responding, improving accuracy and reasoning.
The first models in this series, o1-preview and o1-mini, are now available in ChatGPT and the API, with regular updates expected to enhance their capabilities.

Key highlights of the o1 model include:
Excels in complex tasks like coding, math, and science
Outperforms previous models, solving 83% of math problems vs. 13% for GPT-4o
Offers both the o1-preview model and the faster, cheaper o1-mini option
Improved safety, with stronger resistance to jailbreaking (scoring 84 vs. 22 for GPT-4o)
Available for ChatGPT Plus, Enterprise, and Edu users, with plans to expand to free users
OpenAI has also teased upcoming features like browsing and file uploads to further improve the o1 models.
These enhanced reasoning models mark a new era for AI, with major advancements in complex problem-solving, and are being hailed as a significant step toward AI’s full potential.
