Cloud Next 2025, Google revealed Ironwood, its 7th-gen AI chip (TPU) built to run AI models faster and use less power.
It offers up to 4,614 TFLOPs and 192GB RAM per chip.
Two versions will launch later this year—one with 256 chips and a massive one with 9,216 chips.
It also has a new SparseCore to boost tasks like recommendations.
Ironwood will connect with Google’s AI Hypercomputer to handle large AI workloads.
This move puts Google in direct competition with Nvidia, Amazon, and Microsoft.

Shopify CEO: Use AI or Fall Behind
Shopify CEO Tobias Lütke says using AI is now a must for all employees. In an internal memo, he called AI a "tool of all trades" and said it’s key to staying ahead.

AI use will now factor into employee reviews and team resource requests. Employees must also share AI learnings with peers.
This shift comes as more workers see AI as a productivity booster—even as some still worry it may take their jobs.

Google Just Made AI Agents Talk to Each Other

Credits: Google
Google announced Agent2Agent (A2A), a new open-source protocol that lets AI agents from different platforms work together.
A2A helps enterprise AI tools share data, manage tasks, and automate workflows securely. Over 50 tech partners, including Salesforce and SAP, support it.
Agents use JSON "Agent Cards" to share their skills and sync in real time. Built on HTTP/JSON, A2A works with existing systems.
It's a step toward scalable multi-agent AI and challenges other protocols like Anthropic's MCP and Microsoft’s AutoGen.

What Google’s Agent2Agent Means for You:
AI tools can now work together better
Less boring, repetitive work for humans
Tasks get done faster and more accurately
Saves companies time and money
Apps and services become smarter
New jobs to manage and guide AI
Easier for businesses to use AI everywhere
